You marry her off to the good Captain of course. <g>

Posted in honor of Julie Andrew's Screen Actor's Guild career honor this evening. Plus, Christopher Plummer is yummy!

A few months ago, I got lost in the parking lot at the Kodak Center at Hollywood and Highland. It must have been a hundred degrees in that stinky, sweaty place. And I wandered around for nearly half hour, losing all sense of direction. I decided I needed to go up a few levels (when really, I need to go down...but there you go) So, I get on the elevator filled with steamy, sweaty touristy types and who should join us but Julie Andrews - dressed in an elegent black and white sparkly gown, wheeling her hubby Blake Edwards. She seemed a little taken aback at having to be scrunched against the wall with a bunch of mere mortals, causing me to wonder why a star attending a big event at the Kodak Center would be in *that* elevator in the first place. She just stared at the buttons, no doubt praying we would stop so she could get the hell out of there. No one said anything to her, because I think we were all a little in shock that Julie freaking Andrews was on the elevator with us. She is lovely. A true legend type.

As a long time fan of Peter O'Toole, I'm thrilled he was nominated for another Oscar. He should have won for "My Favorite Year," but that's mucho aqua under the bridge. He's the sentimental choice, but probably won't snag it. Why is it many of my all time favorite actors are hard drinkin', hard livin' bad boy British blokes? Except Hugh, who isn't wild or bad, but he covers the bases on TV. I'm disappointed Jack wasn't nominated, but hey - he's won his share. Is this Helen Mirren's year or what? I love her. The Queen indeed. The "Litte Miss Sunshine" love warmed the cockles of my heart. Speaking of, Steve Carell - darling - you MUST attend the Paley Fest Office panel. It just won't be the same without you.

I'll probably burn in hell for saying this, but I was already so sick of "Dreamgirls" that I secretly smiled just a little when it wasn't nominated. Not fair, I know...but this is what happens when the hype machine skittles out of control. I used to listen to the soundtrack over and over again when I was in high school. <cough> I absolutely loved it. Great music.

My new favorite show that's not House? Extras. Ricky Gervais is genuis. My God, his skewering of show biz is simply dead on perfect. He was on Letterman last night. Yet ANOTHER quick witted Brit. Is there something in the water on that side of the pond?

Off to watch American Idol. Yes, it's my guilty pleasure. Yes. I like Simon. Moobs, high waisters and all.

Very often a choice needs to be made.

Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

I knew this would happen with my journal - I would start to ignore it. So, just because it's feeling lonely:

I have absolutely nothing of interest to say, but I did want to vent about the woman waiting in line behind me at 7-11 today. She was one of those rude people who talks on her cell, not bothering to acknowledge that other people actually exist in the world...anyway I'm at the counter paying for my Naked juice and saltines and she's practically standing on my feet she's so close to me. Talk about not giving someone a little personal space. She threw her shit down right next to mine and was practically shoving me out of the way. In the meantime she's calling someone an asshole on her phone. Hey lady - shut up and back off. Geesh.

I am super excited for a new episode of Project Runway tonight! I'm hopelessly addicted to that show. I've also been watching this mockumentary series on Fuse called "The PA." It's really rather entertaining. I suppose I like it so much because I've worked as a PA and that's pretty much how it is.

So, the art coordinator on the show I worked on helps find artists for Kiefer Sutherland's record label. Dark Mark we call him. Very goth. Anyway, he's invited me to come to this documentary premiering here in LA on Saturday night about Kiefer and his efforts to promote one of the bands on his label. Kiefer will be there to do a Q and A after. I was supposed to go to my sister's birthday party that night, so I don't know...it would be kinda cool to meet Kiefer, but then I suppose if I really, really wanted to Mark would arrange that some other time. So right now I'm leaning towards the birthday party. I don't know why I'm so wishy washy about these things lately. I *almost* didn't go to Hugh Laurie's Band From TV rehearsal a couple of weeks ago. Going was the best decision I've made this year because it was awesome...but I nearly didn't go. I don't even remember WHY I was iffy about going in the first place, but I was. I do have to say that I'm terrified I might end up in the DVD. I was all fangirly and whooting for the cameraman taking footage for behind the scenes stuff. It seemed fun at the time... Hopefully they will find someone younger and hipper to show making a fool of themselves.

Speaking of Kiefer, there is a big article on him in one of last week's gossip mags...and they have that photo of him with his pants down while getting trashed at Dimples a couple of years ago. I've been to Dimples more than once and nothing like that ever happens when I'm there. <g>

Anyway...I've always like this photo of the House gang.
